WARRANTY – MATERIAL REPLACEMENT
HydrO2Flow Prop – Propeller Protection Coating Kit
Issued by: Helix Coatings Beneficiary: End user or authorized applicator
This Limited Warranty is issued subject to strict compliance with the terms and conditions set forth herein, which form an integral part of its enforceability.
1. Scope of Warranty and Coverage Terms
Warranty Period: Twelve (12) months from the date of product application, as officially registered through the designated online warranty form www.helix-coatings.com
Coverage Includes:
- One (1) replacement HydrO2Flow Prop – Propeller Protection Coating Kit.
- One (1) PrepStrip – Paint Remover Kit for the removal of the HydrO2Flow PropTop coating.
Eligibility Requirements:
- Verified hard fouling (e.g., barnacle adhesion) affecting more than fifteen percent (15%) of the coated surface.
- Full compliance with the technical application and maintenance guidelines outlined in Section 2.
2. Beneficiary Responsibilities
A. Application and Documentation
- The Beneficiary must submit a warranty registration within fifteen (15) calendar days from the date of purchase or application via the official online form. The submission must include proof of purchase, date of application, current weather conditions at the time of application, and substrate details.
- For optimal product performance, application is recommended within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of purchase. This recommendation is based on the preservation of the product’s technical integrity, as validated under controlled storage conditions typically maintained by authorized distributors.
- The product must be applied in strict accordance with the Technical Data Sheet (TDS) and the Product Application Guide, including but not limited to:
- Complete surface preparation (removal of previous or old coatings, degreasing, surface profiling).
- Adherence to specified environmental parameters (air and surface temperature, relative humidity, dew point).
- Observance of prescribed drying intervals touch dry, hard dry, recoating intervals, and launching time.
B. Maintenance and Preventive Measures
- Early-stage biofouling (slime, algae, bryozoans, hydroids, barnacles) must be removed using non-abrasive tools such as soft sponges or microfiber cloths. Use of hard tools, brushes, scrapers, or abrasive pads is strictly prohibited.
- In cases of boat inactivity exceeding two (2) weeks, propulsion systems must be operated in both forward and reverse directions to enable detachment of fouling organisms.
3. Limitations of Coverage and Liability
This warranty shall be deemed null and void under any of the following circumstances:
- Mechanical damage, grounding, or other than recreational use.
- Electrolytic corrosion, defective or insufficient cathodic protection.
- Failure to comply with manufacturer instructions for surface preparation.
- Application under environmental conditions that deviate from those specified in the technical documentation, or under sudden weather changes, which might occur and fall beyond the manufacturer’s control (e.g., air temperature, surface temperature, relative humidity, dew point).
- Application on incompatible substrates.
- Exposure to chemical agents (fuels, cleaners, oils).
- Non-compliance with drying or launching timelines.
- Use of expired products beyond their shelf life.
- Application by unauthorized personnel or in violation of technical instructions.
- Failure to maintain adequate film thickness or surface coverage.
- Neglect of maintenance procedures, including biofilm removal.
3.1 Coating Failure
This warranty does not extend to coating failures such as delamination, cracking, or swelling. Such defects are attributed solely to improper substrate preparation, incorrect application, or deviation from the manufacturer’s technical guidelines, and remain the sole responsibility of the applicator.
4. Claims Procedure
- Claims must be submitted within fifteen (15) calendar days from the initial observation of failure.
- All claims must be filed via the official online warranty claim form www.helix-coatings.com……..
- Required documentation includes:
- Proof of purchase.
- Photographic evidence clearly shows hard fouling exceeding fifteen percent (15%) of the coated surface, along with vessel identification.
- Documentation of underwater maintenance.
- Helix Coatings reserves the right to conduct an on-site inspection prior to final claim approval.
- Helix Coatings reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to reject any warranty claim not submitted within thirty (30) calendar days from the date of first discovery of the defect.
5. Limitation of Remedies
This warranty constitutes the sole and exclusive remedy available to the Beneficiary. Helix Coatings shall not be liable for:
- Costs associated with hauling, launching, or transporting the vessel.
- Underwater cleaning, diver services, or inspections.
- Labor for removal, application, or restoration of coatings.
- Shipyard fees, docking charges, or surveyor costs.
- Direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including but not limited to:
- Loss of vessel use
- Travel delays or disruption of scheduled operations
- Loss of income or profits
- Commercial or professional damages
- Damages arising from negligence, misuse, or failure to comply with manufacturer instructions.
- Damages resulting from improper storage, handling, or application conditions.
- Any compensation beyond product replacement, provision of removal materials, and technical guidance as defined in Section 1.
