Fouling Release
Fouling-Release coatings are engineered for surfaces that demand minimal drag, clean hydrodynamics, and maximum efficiency. Unlike traditional antifoulings, fouling-release systems do not rely on biocidal activity; instead, they use ultra-low-surface-energy polymers that prevent strong adhesion and allow fouling to shed through water flow or light maintenance.
Within the HELIX range, two specialized fouling-release systems cover all critical marine applications:
HydrO₂Flow Prop System, a dual-component propeller and running-gear coating based on advanced silicone polymers, designed to deliver exceptional smoothness, reduced drag, and reliable self-cleaning during operation. Its high-energy Dual Adhesion Matrix™ within HydrO₂Flow PropPrime and elastic topcoat HydrO₂Flow PropTop ensure long-term performance under extreme hydrodynamic load.
The HydrO₂Flow system is backed by the WARRANTY – MATERIAL REPLACEMENT, activated upon registration and validated application records.
HydroVel, a clear, flexible fouling-release coating specifically formulated for neoprene inflatables (RIB tubes) and hull surfaces. With no primer or sanding required, HydroVel provides ultra-smooth, low-tension protection that maintains the original appearance while enabling easy cleaning and reliable performance during cruising or extended mooring.
Both HELIX fouling-release systems provide a next-generation approach to hydrodynamic cleanliness, improved speed, reduced fuel consumption, and uncompromised protection on both running gear and inflatable surfaces.
